Restoration Systems was contracted to remove an existing unsafe metal stairwell at Bell Plaza in Bloomington, Minnesota, within RSI’s Minneapolis service area. The original staircase had deteriorated to a point where continued use posed a safety risk to the building’s staff and the surrounding public.
Working in an active site environment, our crew implemented proper safety measures to protect both occupants and pedestrians during demolition. The existing staircase was removed efficiently and without disruption to the property.
We then fabricated a new galvanized steel staircase in-house and installed it on site, bringing the access point back into compliance with current building code. The completed assembly restored safe egress for the property and replaced a failing component with a system built to withstand Minnesota’s freeze-thaw exposure for the long term.
